UV germicidal lamp can only kill surface bacteria

The main role of UV germicidal lamps is indeed to target bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms on the surface, but its role is not limited to the surface. Under certain conditions, ultraviolet germicidal lamps can also eliminate microorganisms in the air and microorganisms in liquids. 1. Surface sterilization

· Main application: UV germicidal lamps are most commonly used to kill bacteria and viruses on the surface of objects, such as medical devices, food processing equipment, packaging materials and daily necessities.

· Limitations: Ultraviolet light cannot penetrate opaque materials or objects, so it has a limited bactericidal effect on areas that are obscured (e.g., gaps, shaded areas).

 

2. Air disinfection

· Application scenario: ultraviolet germicidal lamps are often used for air disinfection, especially in hospitals, laboratories, food processing plants and other environments that need to be kept highly clean. Through the installation of ultraviolet lamps in the ceiling or air purification system, pathogenic microorganisms in the air can be effectively killed.

· How it works: Airborne microorganisms are killed when they pass through areas illuminated by ultraviolet lamps, which is especially useful for reducing the spread of airborne diseases.

 

3. Liquid sterilization

· Application scenarios: UV germicidal lamps are widely used in water treatment systems, such as drinking water, swimming pool water, wastewater treatment and liquid sterilization in the beverage and food industry.
